- Abstract
This paper deals with the benefits of irrigation water pricing in general. Moreover it is intended to analyse the scope of
surface water irrigation, especially tank water irrigation in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, by fixing an appropriate price
which will help conservation as well as optimum use of the scarce resource. The differences in water rates in different
states are also dealt with.
